Valbruna is playing an important role in the building of the new bridge in Genova, projected by Renzo Piano and realized by Salini Impregilo-Fincantieri. The headquarter plant delivered supplies of REVAL®, the trademark for threaded bars of enhanced grip for more than 30 years.
After taking part to the realization of italian and foreign major projects, among which the High Speed railway bridges in Italy and the recently inaugurated Hong Kong-Zhuahai-Macau bridge, the main plant in Vicenza has been called to supply 250 tons of AISI 304 REVAL® material.
Stainless steel bars have been located within the pedestrian passages, the areas where the risk of corrosion is higher: that is where stainless steel can guarantee safety and endess life of the structure.
Beyond Italian borders, moreover, Valbruna has just won the supply of stainless steel 40mm round bars to be used within the foundations of the 3200 meters Storstroem bridge in Denmark.
Thanks to its property of high corrosion resistance, stainless steel allows important savings on maintenance costs for the structures exposed to environmental extreme conditions, being the cheapest solution on the long term as a consequence.
Taking part in the creation of this major work as a supplier represents a prestigious reward for our company that, with its 95 years of history, has become a point of reference on the global scenario.
