Stainless Steels Ferritic (click on category for list of products)
Iron based alloys with Chromim higher than 10.5% and Carbon max. 0.15% without critical transformation points, which therefore cannot be stiffened by quench hardening but only through cold working ( cold drawing ). Ferritic steels have magnetic attitude

For solenoid valves: Ferritic stainless steels subjected to a particular production process in order to achieve low residual magnetism , quercitive force and high magnetic permeability to be used for the manufacture of electromechanical devices as solenoid valves and fluel injectors . These kind of steels are particularly suitable for magnetic cores or other parts requiring better corrosion resistance than silicon iron steels. Go to Magival ? section.
For cold working: Most used ferritic stainless steels are easy to be cold worked. Mo addings enhace corrosion resistance in saline or agressive gasses environment. They are used in chemical industry, in parts of domestic appliances and furniture components.
For machining: These steels differ from the first listed for their addtional elements like Nb and Ti heightening their hot corrosion resistance. Main application in automotive industry. Alloying elements better machinability.
